The committee generally meets quarterly on a Thursday at 3 p.m. View meeting agendas and minutes.

The Animal Shelter Advisory Committee advises the city councils and staff of Cedar Hill, Desoto, and Duncanville on matters related to the Tri-City Animal Shelter, including policies and procedures, fees and rates, and special initiatives, among others.

The City of Cedar Hill, as the duly authorized agent of the Cities of Duncanville and Desoto in the management and daily operations of the Tri-City Animal Shelter, shall appoint the four members required by state law with consensus from all member cities:

- One licensed veterinarian

- One county or municipal official

- One animal shelter manager

- One representative from an animal welfare organization

The cities of Cedar Hill, Desoto, and Duncanville shall appoint one at-large member each to serve on the Committee.
